Welcome to the Proof is NOT in the Pudding – my new blog about healthy eating and exercise.

I have been working in the fitness industry for over 7 years now and with the ever changing fitness crazes and fad diets, the one thing that remains a constant is people asking me: ‘What do you do?’, ‘What do you eat?’, ‘What can I do to lose my tummy?’ etc.

Follow this blog to kick start your lifestyle change and get ideas on both exercise and healthy eating.

The title of the blog is very appropriate for me, as I LOVE a pudding. From cheesecake to brûlée to a packet of Malteasers, even to a table spoon of Nutella, I am a sucker for that ‘something else’ after my dinner. Being in the fitness industry there is a big pressure to practise what you preach and have definition of every muscle, like you are a walking anatomy poster. I am, at the end of the day, just like you. I like tasty food and a treat (or 4!) and without controlling my food intake and exercise levels, my body changes in shape and size.

Just before the summer I had indulged in many a pudding and treat, with the feeling I was untouchable as I partake in at least 2 hours of exercise a day. This is the proof that diet goes hand in hand with exercise. My portion size increased and my excuses for a pudding were ‘I’ve taught a Zumba class today, so I can (and will) eat a bar of galaxy and it won’t make a difference to me’.

Pre and Post PhotosBefore I knew it, the treats had caught up with me, my trousers were tighter and I felt heavier. My holiday was looming, my bikini was calling and it was time to ‘practise what I preach’. The treats and over indulging had to stop! Within 3 weeks, from simply cutting down on my portion sizes and limiting my treats, I changed in not only kilograms & inches but energy levels and positivity too.

I appreciate how hard being ‘good’ can be, especially as the winter draws nearer and motivation levels become less. The aim of this blog is to help you with a lifestyle change and will be a realistic approach to healthy eating and exercise.

I will not be advising you to eat raw eggs, run 3 times a day and live off lettuce!
